Supporting Refugee Week 2023

We’re proud to be taking part in this year’s Refugee Week, the world’s largest arts and culture festival celebrating the contributions, resilience and creativity of refugees and people seeking sanctuary.

For Refugee Week’s 25th anniversary, the theme is celebrating ‘Compassion’, and everyone is invited to explore what compassion looks like in action. Together we can create a shared understanding of compassion to ensure we are extending it widely to all.

“Our task must be to free ourselves by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.”- Albert Einstein

We have a proud record of providing housing and support for those leaving their homes due to war and humanitarian crises. To find out more, check out the video below.

The artwork for the 2023 theme was created with the artist Murugiah, an award-winning artist based in London, raised in Wales, with Sri Lankan heritage. You can read more about Murugiah and the artwork in the Compassion – Murugiah Commission blog on the Refugee Week website.

Together, let us create a welcoming community where everyone can thrive, regardless of their background or circumstances. Join us in celebrating Refugee Week and our shared values of compassion, inclusion and support.
