Studley Green community garden

New community garden at Studley Green

Over the past few months, Trowbridge Future have been working with Wiltshire Wildlife Trust Next Door Nature project and the Studley Green Community Association to realise the dream of a community garden on Studley Green.

Supported by Wiltshire Council Community Conversations, idverde, the Grist Group, and Selwood Housing. The funding they received from the National Allotments Association was used to install two sturdy picnic benches, one with wheelchair access and now the project has come to fruition.

Meg Aubrey, Trowbridge Future CEO said,

“We are delighted that Selwood Housing will be continuing their support for our Community Manager, Zoe Meaden in her work within our priority communities of Longfield, Seymour and Studley Green. We are looking forward to collaborating on new projects in the key areas.”

Local residents and children helped to clear the land and install bird boxes, a hedgehog house and bird feeders.

Sue Deedigan, Wiltshire Wildlife Trust said:

“In the words of Helen Keller, ‘Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.’   We are all very proud of the result of partnership working and also to the colleagues and volunteers from Studley Green community who gave up their time and devoted their passion to making the community garden a reality.  We look forward to growing fruit, vegetables and flowers in the raised beds in 2025 and to observing and nurturing all the wildlife who visit our insect houses, bird boxes and hedgehog house.”
