New workstations for Wiltshire Digital Drive

IT equipment at Wiltshire Digital Drive office

Established during the 2020 lockdown, Wiltshire Digital Drive are a non-profit organisation committed to closing the ‘digital divide’ by helping those in need of digital connections.

Going from strength to strength, they moved to their new home in Melksham in September 2023. Funded by Selwood Housing’s Stronger Communities Fund, new workstations have enabled them to provide opportunities for young people to gain work experience in IT and computer technology.

With new workstations and equipment, local young people now have a safe environment where they can learn to refurbish laptops and computers, develop their IT skills, and build their confidence, helping them move on to future opportunities.

Natalie Luckham, Director at Wiltshire Digital Drive, said:

“The money we received from Selwood Housing has been a blessing. We moved offices last year and have had a growing amount of interest from young people in the local area to volunteer with us or gain experience in a tech environment. We didn’t feel able to facilitate these previously because we didn’t have enough work benches and equipment to make it a safe and valuable experience. We have now been able to create a brilliant space for people to fix laptops on and learn more about the work we do, so thank you!”
