The team at Bowerhill Baby & Toddler Group surprised the children with new toys and equipment, supported by Selwood Housing’s Stronger Communities Fund.
Cllr Nick Holder for Bowerhill commented on Facebook:
“Brilliant that Selwood Housing is supporting Bowerhill Baby & Toddlers. Thanks”.
The funds provided by Selwood Housing are aimed at improving the lives of their customers and the communities they live in. The funding has provided a bountiful supply of new toys. This will have a huge impact on the children’s development at Bowerhill Baby and Toddlers. The theme of the toys is role playing. Role playing not only enhances a child’s language skills, but also boosts their confidence in verbal communication. Furthermore, role play can aid in reducing shyness and improving social skills.
Jemma Humphreys, Bowerhill Baby & Toddler Group Chair said:
“We were really keen to develop the children’s experience in role play and we hope all this new equipment will enable this type of play. Many children are naturally introverted or shy, and role play provides a safe space for them to come out of their shell. There is lots of role play to experience with our new prams, cars and, at the request of our little ones – Paw Patrol cars! A huge thank you to Selwood Housing”.
Elyne Potter also commented:
“Oh wow! This looks absolutely amazing! Thank you Selwood Housing! The children will absolutely love exploring the new toys and creating new little stories and worlds. Their little face when they see it all”.
