Frances Geary named finalist in the Women in Housing Awards

Frances Geary, Head of new business and home ownership at Selwood Housing has been recognised as a Women in Housing Awards finalist in the Professional of the Year category.

Over the last 12 years, Frances has led projects that delivered over 1,500 local, affordable homes across the southwest of England.

The Women in Housing awards celebrate the leaders, innovators and changemakers across the social housing sector.

Frances was nominated because of her outstanding contribution to the local communities of Wiltshire, Bath and NE Somerset and Mendip. She said:

I’m honoured and humbled to have been named a Women in Housing Awards finalist. When we hand over the keys to new home you get to see the real difference a home makes to people’s lives and the possibilities that open up for them, particularly if they have been sofa surfing or living in inadequate housing.  I firmly believe that everyone has the right to shelter and a safe place to call home.

Paul Walsh, Development Director, Selwood Housing said:

Many congratulations to Frances from everyone at Selwood Housing for this fantastic achievement. Development is competitive and dynamic, and Frances’ professionalism and expertise extends to winning new schemes, leading the homeownership team and project managing a complex portfolio of development projects, all of which mean we can provide much needed affordable homes in our local communities.

Selwood Housing has recently signed contracts in March and April 2022 for 126 new homes to be built in the communities of Champmanslade, Westbury, Yatton Keynell, Malmesbury, Salisbury and Trowbridge, representing an investment of £25.45 million. With building underway in 2022, we hope these homes will be completed in 2023/24.
