Families enjoy the activities at Dilton Marsh fun day!

Families came to Dilton Marsh to visit the free family fun day with activities for young families. The event was organised by Westbury Churches Together, and supported by Selwood Housing, White Horse Children’s Centre and local health trainers. The free family fun day took place in August and was a great success!

There was something for everyone to enjoy, including face painting, bouncy castles and plenty of arts and craft activities to get creative.

Jazmine and Leila (pictured) showed a keen interest in the sea life animals, while Seb (pictured) took time out from the activities to get an amazing snake face painting.

Ruth Brooks-Martin, one of the organisers said:

“We only exist to run the free fun days for families, especially focussing on those that struggle financially. We started back in about 2010 with a gazebo on the grass in The Circle and have subsequently grown into a bigger event. Unable to organise the fun day since 2019 due to Covid and various other difficulties, we are returning this year. Without the support from Selwood Housing and the other organisations, this year would not have been possible.”

The afternoon was organised for families with primary school age children, and there was a variety of free activities and refreshments including jacket potatoes, teas, coffees, cold drinks and homemade cakes.
