Celebrating Investors in People gold accreditation

We recognise that our people are our biggest asset, and we’re determined to keep improving the way we manage, develop and lead our staff. We are delighted to have retained our Investors in People gold accreditation and improved our scores across all areas.

A survey was sent to all staff asking for feedback on lots of different areas of the organisation. The questions covered things like how motivated and involved they are at work and if they felt supported and appreciated. The responses were confidential, meaning no one knew who said what.

Investors in People then put together a report which was shared with staff, including what we can be proud of and what we can work on.

We will use the feedback to produce an action plan to address any areas where we can improve. This will also be shared with staff, along with updates on how we are progressing.

Some highlights include:

  • 87.1% of our people feel that we have a positive impact on society and 84.8% agreed that Selwood Housing has clear values
  • 89.1% of staff agree that they work well with colleagues and 83.2% feel empowered to use their initiative in their role

One area we aim to improve is recognising and rewarding high performance, in particular ensuring consistency of approach.

Overall, people enjoy working for Selwood Housing, value the ‘family’ feel of the organisation and appreciate our hybrid working policy.

We want to thank all our staff for their participation in the survey and their continued commitment to making Selwood Housing a great place to work.
