Two lions at Longleat

Studley Green Primary trip to Longleat

Children from Studley Green Primary School in Trowbridge enjoyed a fun-filled day out at Longleat in June, with entrance fees paid for by The Rotary Club.

The trip was part of the Rotary Club's National Rotary KidsOut Day which is the single biggest outing for disadvantaged children across the UK. More than 10,000 Rotarians volunteer on the day across 100 venues to give children a day out to remember, whether they live with critical health issues, in refuge or with a disability.

Selwood Housing were pleased to support the day out for the children from Studley Green Primary through our Stronger Communities Fund by funding the coach to and from Longleat.

The children particularly enjoyed the boat safari on Longleat's lake where they were able to see hippos and seals, including a baby seal which had been born at the park for the first time in six years. Another highlight for the children was the koalas as well as enjoying ice-cream after lunch to keep cool on such a hot day.

We are inviting customers to join our next focus group, reviewing our tenancy fraud policy.
Tackling tenancy fraud helps us to provide an effective housing service, as this type of fraud affects how we can manage our properties, including dealing effectively with anti-social behaviour or repairs issues. It also affects our finances in terms of reclaimed benefit payments where these have been paid fraudulently. If you would like to join us in reviewing this policy, you are invited to our offices in Trowbridge on Wednesday 4th September 10am - 12pm.
