What was it?
In May and June 2022, we delivered a customer training programme called We Are All Selwood Housing.
There were four, half day workshops covering topics such as the history of Selwood Housing, governance, community, services and lettings.
This was a pilot project to determine whether this is something that should take place again in the future.
Why?
We wanted to provide a programme which increased customer knowledge of social housing and how Selwood Housing operates.
We also wanted to encourage customers to apply to become part of our Board or Scrutiny Team, and have the knowledge to perform their best in the application stage.
Additionally, we hoped that learners would be better prepared for applying for jobs with Selwood Housing after completing the programme.
Who took part?
Eleven customers participated in the programme. Six learners participated by joining our in-person workshops and five learners completed the course online.
Outcomes
88% were very happy or happy with the content of the programme and 93% had a very good or good understanding after completing each programme module.
Three learners applied to be on our Scrutiny team.
